Hands-on Driving Centre

Hands-on Driving Centre

The question about driving is not if you can still drive, but rather if you should still be driving and if you are still capable of safe driving, as each person with a valid driver’s licence can drive.

Hands-on Driving is the Centre  where we do driving tests to determine if you meet the physical and cognitive criteria to be a safe driver. Various options are available from adaptations to your car.  For example, driving rehab to help you meet the criteria for being a safe and capable driver.

We also do comprehensive driving evaluations to determine if you are fit to drive.

Phase 1: We evaluate the physical, cognitive, functional and visual ability of the individual at the Centre.

Phase 2: We assess the driving skills and ability in real time traffic. We assist people with disabilities to drive again. We also determine if elderly people should still be driving or not. Other examples of candidates are people with diagnoses of Alzheimer, Dementia, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Psychiatric Disorders, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases. We also provide Home Programs to assist in recovery.
