Hands-on Evaluations Centre

At our Hands-on Evaluations Centre , we perform the necessary assessments of cognitive, physical, and functional abilities to determine any discrepancies that can be indicative of a disability. Disability is experienced when an individual’s capacity does not match their personal, social or work demands. Where an individual is presenting with permanent incapacity all possible alternatives are investigated to ensure that quality of life is achieved. We do the following evaluations:

Medico-legal Evaluations:

The assessment of a client’s full functional ability and needs after an injury/accident/incident  occurred. We  deliver  witness of the findings during court proceedings. Occupational Therapy Medico-legal Reports focus on the impact that the incident/accident/injury had on the client’s functional ability and ability to participate in activities of daily living. Everyone  is unique, therefor  recommendations and aids are given according to each specific individual. Hereby we assist the court to make a fair and just decision based on everyone’s case.

These assessments consist of various physical and cognitive standardized tests batteries, functional and simulated tasks that the client must participate in.

Functional Capacity Evaluations:

The assessment of a client’s full functional ability and needs after an injury/accident/ incident occurred. This helps  to determine a client’s overall functional level and level of participation in his or her activities of daily living. Occupational Therapy then assist in recommendations for adaptations, assistive devices, alternative job placements, work rehabilitation programs or disability applications.

Work Capacity Evaluations:

The assessment of a client’s full functional ability and needs after an injury/accident/incident occurred. This helps to determine if work requirements and demands are matching the employee’s current abilities. Occupational Therapy then assists with ergonomical changes, adaptations, assistive devices, alternative job placements, work hardening programs or recommendations for disability application.
